Defining America brings together artists with different perspectives on the concept of “America” and asks visitors to reflect on the values, definitions, and assumptions attached to this concept.

A Vanderbilt House Party – The Gilded Age

See re-creations of the clothing George and Edith Vanderbilt and their guests wore during elaborate house parties. Audio tours are available to lead visitors through the house. Tickets are $50-$85/per person for ages 16+; Children 10-16 are half-off, and kids 9 and younger are free.

Spring Literary Festival

Western Carolina University's annual Spring Literary Festival has a long tradition of bringing established and emerging literary talent to our campus and region. It reflects WCU's commitment to providing the best humanities education possible to its students and to bringing the best of the arts to the mountains.

Rainbow and Ramps Festival

The annual Rainbow and Ramps Festival features rainbow trout and ramps plus other seasonal veggies for only $10 per meal.  10:30 a.m.  Doors open, Horseshoe Tournament starts 11:15 a.m.  Blessing & lunch for Elders 11:20 a.m.  Lunch & music by the Ross Brothers 12:00 p.m.  Meals for sale & dancing by J Creek Cloggers 12:30 p.m.  Warriors of AniKituhwa 1:00 p.m.     Bingo
