Cherokee Bluegrass Festival

Cherokee’s family bluegrass music festival takes place June 6–8, 2019 with some of the brightest stars in bluegrass music. There will be live music daily from noon to 10:00 p.m. at the Happy Holiday RV Village and Campground in Cherokee.

22nd Annual Cherokee Voices Festival

The voices of an 11,000-year-old culture are inviting you to come out and play. Cherokee culture speaks in its most thrilling ways through dance, music, storytelling, and arts and crafts. You’re invited to hear and experience it all during the Cherokee Voices Festival, now in its 22nd year. It’s free of charge and held at the Museum of the Cherokee Indian. Sponsored by the North Carolina Arts Council and the Museum.

Pots on the Green

Join us for a two-day ceramic art show celebrating the area’s rich pottery heritage. Unique, original pottery by select artisans will be on display and for sale. Learn about the history of pottery and techniques used in our area during four distinct demonstrations and talks. The festival will take place June 21-22, 2019 at The Village Green Gazebo in Cashiers.

Bryson City Freedom Fest

The old fashioned street festival features local music throughout the day, handcrafted arts, festival food, and a children's area. Stay for the full day or return later to enjoy the headliner show at 8 p.m. followed by the fireworks show at 10 p.m.

Cherokee Powwow

Participate in an authentic Native American Powwow July 5-7 at the Acquoni Expo Center, and experience dancing, drumming, and tribal regalia. Hundreds of world-champion dancers and drummers will compete for thousands of dollars in prizes. Activities kick off with the "Grand Entry" march on July 5 at 7 p.m., and a fireworks display will take place around 10 on July 6. 

Grandfather Mountain Highland Games

Blaring bagpipes, Scottish athletics, Highland melodies, Celtic cuisine, crafts aplenty and a spectacular highland setting make this colorful celebration of Scottish culture one of the most highly acclaimed games in the country.

Highlands Village Square Art and Craft Show

The show features only local and regional artisans displaying their fine art, crafts, and rustic furniture. Festival hours are Saturday and Sunday 10a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is FREE. 

NAACP Sky Festival

In conjunction with Darnell Farms' Labor Day Celebration, Jackson Co. NC NAACP’s President Enrique Gomez (professor of Astronomy and Physics) will conduct ‘sky scrolls’ to help guests become better acquainted with the night sky.   As part of the weekend, there are also games, hay rides, corn maze, fishing, swimming, camping, music, labor speakers, fresh produce, home-made ice cream and other great food.
