My wife and three boys stayed in the Bears Den yurt for 2 nights and enjoyed a truly unique family get away. We love to camp and this was indeed "glamping" as our wonderful host Brandi referred to it (glamour + camping) The Yurt itself was very comfortable and well appointed and had plenty of room. Nice deck overlooking the lake and wonderful chairs for star gazing at night. The pavillion area was awesome! Satelite tv for watching the ball games - go braves- well stocked and kitchen, very nice baths, Big Green Egg and gas grills for cooking, and a wonderful stone fireplace. We had a great time just hanging out playing cards in front of the fireplace. It really was like camping but with all the conveniences of home. Location on Bear Lake was convenient to great sightseeing along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Met some great guests at the pavillion area as well. The smaller yurt would be a great a nice romantic trip or couples could rent both yurts for a nice retreat. Wonderful service from SunDog staff - Caleb, Brandi and Sarah made sure we had everything we needed! Highly recommend SunDog Places and the Yurts for a unique and memorable trip

My wife, our Jack Russell and I enjoyed 2 very relaxing days in the smaller yurt during the July 4th weekend. The path to the nearby lake beaches were a bit steep, but clean and manageable. Morning temps were crisp, and the climate controls in the yurt were perfect. We found the pavillion, kitchen, and bathroom to be very comfortable and convenient. This is the most comfortable way to camp!

If you are looking for the ultimate vacation get away DO NOT HESITATE to book your dream vacation! This is the most peaceful, relaxing place on the planet. I cannot recommend the yurts enough! The bed was amazing - the height of luxury! The furnishings are fit for a king! The views are incredible! DON'T FORGET TO RENT THE BOAT FOR THE DAY! The views around Bear Lake were WELL worth the cost! Everything was PERFECT, exceptionally clean & welcoming in every way! The owners have thought of everything to make your stay a one of a kind experience! I've already re-booked for more summer fun! This is perfect for the family vacation or better yet, a special get away with that special someone in your life! I WILL be back, again & again! We spent 5 nights at the Twin Cottage. The accommodations were fabulous! The kitchen was well appointed for us to pack and carry or cook just about every meal we were there. Laughing Trout Camp on Bear Creek Lake was a great time. It was great to have everything a family may need to camp out for the day. We took a canoe ride in the lake. That was a vacation highlight! This was a great family vacation getaway!!

My wife and I spent a long weekend at Rabbit Hill Cottage. We absolutely loved the cottage and the "Reserve". We loved the pond and the greeting center. We visited the Laughing Trout Pavilion. It was very nice. We did not have time to do everything that was available so maybe we can come back again. The best thing about the whole place was the quietness. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. We highly recommend this place.

My wife and 3 small kids (under 5) stayed in June 2010 and Loved the resort. Rabbit Hill had everything we needed. The Bear Lake property is beautiful and we enjoyed driving thruout the resort. We used the Clubhouse/Pool each day. Both pools were great for kids and offered great views of the lake. We drove to the golfcourse but did not play....wow it looks incredible. BLC gave us easy access to visit Highlands for day trips. We will definately be back. Sundog rentals made our visit and payment thru VRBO super easy.

Rabbit Hill Cottage was the perfect place to relax after a day working on our tree farm just a few miles away. We appreciated the convenient location to the Bear Lake Reserve entrance and to the Meadows Trail where we hiked one morning. Beautiful furnishings, accessories and artwork, well equipped kitchen, luxurious towels, comfortable bed, azalea blooming right outside, and all the comforts of home made it a perfect stay.

My trip was excellent and Sundog was very personable. I was contacted the day of my arrival en route to determine if I had everything I needed for a late arrival. I was also given a cell phone number from a Sundog employee to use if needed. They were able to arrange for the final bill to be run on my credit card of record and delivered it to the cabin for me to sign. They also arranged to have wood delivered and stacked on the porch with little notice from me. I will definitely use Sundog again for vacation rentals

The house was in excellent condition! The 4th of July festivities were awesome, especially the nearness and duration of the fireworks! The lake club was fabulous! My family and I can't say enough about the property and we're considering returning next year as well. The only thing I would complain about...which is very minor... is that the gas grill ran out of gas during our stay as we were cooking one of our meals. In the future, just make sure that the gas tanks are checked prior to renting the unit or provide a spare tank just in case. Other than that, AWESOME!!!

I have stayed at Bear Lake Reserve on 4 different dates. We continue to come back every year. In fact, I brought with me my adult daughter and her fiance one time and they loved it so much they decided to have their wedding here. We love the roomy cottages, views, clubhouse with pools and all the amendities. We enjoy the property with all the hiking trails, outdoor fireplaces, lake, boats, kids fishing pond and so much more. The 2,100 acre property was well taken care of and the staff were friendly. I rented through Sundog Vacation Rentals and the staff were very accomadating, lending their assistance and expertise when needed. We plan on coming back next summer.

We had a great time in this beautiful home! It rained most of the weekend, so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoors as we had hoped. The home was comfortable and beautifully decorated. The setting is breath-taking! We would love to return!

Gorgeous little house in the perfect spot to enjoy Bear Lake Reserve. A short walk to the water or the Greeter's cottage, makes it super convenient. We arrived late at night and my friend wasn't sure what to expect. She loved the house instantly but the rest of Bear Lake was covered in darkness. Having breakfast on the screened in porch, we soaked in the serene beauty an she was overwhelmed by this hidden paradise! Caleb and team at Sundog are always super-friendly and helpful! My wedding is over a year away and I've let the family know to rent their homes from Sundog first. My best friend and Maid of Honor has already picked Rabbit Hill for the week of the wedding!

We enjoyed our stay here as we have 4 kids and they were able to play in the meadow beneath this cabin. Management was very responsive to any requests we made. We will stay here again.
