Some are located in communities and all have access to extra amenities. Please contact your reservationist for more detailed information on specific cottages. What is Sundrops on Caney Fork? Sundrops on Caney Fork is a gated Nano resort on Caney Fork Creek. This resort is located on the premier trout creek. Sundrops recreation center offers covered pavilion with fireplace, fitness center, sauna, hot tub, indoor play-media-library, dining area, outdoor kitchen with grill and outdoor dining areas, pedestrian friendly walking trails, garden/orchard, resort pool, and fitness center. You can also try your luck out trout fishing on the banks of Caney Fork; surround yourself with the Smoky Mountains and the sounds of the rushing creek. As a guest in Sundrops you will have free access to Sundrops recreation center, plus our lakefront pavilion called the Laughing Trout Camp just 15 minutes from The Bear Lake Reserve community. The Sundrops clubhouse and pool are located in the Sundrops community. What is Bear Lake Reserve? Bear Lake Reserve is a master planned gated community on Bear Creek Lake. The resort offers a clubhouse, restaurant, bar, pools, hot tubs, fitness center, children's play area, theater and marina. The clubhouse includes on site activities director with many programs for children as well as adults. The restaurant has great burgers, sandwiches and gourmet dining with an expansive wine selection, local beers and a large bar with lounging area and ample indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy the lake views. There are multiple heated pools, hot tubs and a slide for children. The fully outfitted fitness center has a sauna, steam room, and locker room with showers. The state of the art 20 seat theater is stocked with DVDs or bring your own. The children's play area is stocked with toys, games, TV and video games. The library offers a quiet secluded place to kick back and catch up on some reading. The clubhouse is 15 minutes from the main entrance of Bear Lake Reserve on the main road. A useful guide to help you stay on the correct road especially at night is to follow the yellow reflectors in the middle of the road. Clubhouse guest fee of approximately $1.00 per family per stay not included in nightly rental rates. Bear lake reserve amenities are for bear lake guests only. All Sundog Guests have access to our Laughing Trout Camp which is a private lakefront timber-frame pavilion located on a fish-rich, skiing and boating lake that boasts a fully gourmet kitchen along with a stone fireplace, fully furnished seating areas, and dining areas. Two heated/AC bathrooms with showers. Along the banks of Bear Creek Lake there are scenic picnic areas, fire pits, and outdoor gas grill for barbecuing. Offers free use of water toys and fishing gear, with two private beaches and dock. Easy on site rental of boats/kayaks/canoes (Advance reservations recommended). Or if you bring your own boat there is convenient public boat ramp adjacent to the property. Ample parking can accommodate RV parking however no hook ups. The pavilion parking area is gated at night time for privacy. Club members and cottage renters are able to access the Laughing Trout Camp Pavilion daily 9a.m. to 9p.m. How do I pay for my vacation? We accept MasterCard, Visa, Amex, and Discover and Cash and Check.

No refunds after 2 weeks prior to your check-in date and signed contract has been returned. When and where do I check in? Check in is at the Specified location of your cottage starting at 3pm Directions, information and codes will all be supplied to you after final payment is procured and you returned your signed Rental Agreement. When and where do I check out? Check out time is by 11:00am on your day of departure. Keys are to be left in the lock-box and any extras left with the cottage book. All trash must be bagged and placed in the proper receptacle and all Linens and towels placed in bathroom. A $50 Fee will charged if trash is not properly discarded in the receptacle. There will be a charge of ($25) for any lost keys. Can I get cell service on premises? Cell service is very limited in the mountains [Call for details]. There is a phone provided in the cottage. [Cottages differ per rental, some include unlimited long distance] Ask your reservationist about your specific cottage. For long distance calls(in non long distance cottages): bring a prepaid phone card, or purchase a prepaid phone card at a local gas station. Do you have access to the internet? Wireless internet is available at most cottages (ask your reservationist for specific details about your cottage) and Laughing Trout camp. Private desk area and wireless is available at SUNDOG Lifestyle Center during normal business hours. Are TV and DVD available? Most cottages have Satellite/Cable TV and DVD players. Ask your reservationist about specific cottages for details. Can I bring my boat? Boats are welcome but depending on the specific cottage some do not have the space required to park. We have designated parking areas in the event that there is insufficient space at your particular cottage. Motorized boats will need to be trailered daily to/from the adjacent public boat ramp. We do not have a dock to tie up to. Do you have boats for rent? We do have boats for rent at the Laughing Trout Camp. You must sign a Release of Liability and Rental Agreement upon rental. If you would like to rent a pontoon boat, canoe, kayak or tube call 828-293-1000 for availability. Rental includes, boat, paddles, life vests.
*Booking a boat rental on line does not guarantee its availability. A reservationist will call to schedule your boat rental. If a boat is not available you will receive a full refund. How much is the Processing fee? Most cottages Processing fee is $105.00 per stay, some differ depending on cottage. Can I swim at the lake? Swim at your own risk. No jumping from dock. There is no lifeguard on duty. Do you accommodate smoking? Our cottages and the Sundrops clubhouse and Laughing Trout Camp are non smoking facilities. If it is discovered smoking occurred within a cottage renter will receive a $250 fine, plus any additional costs for cleaning or damage. Where is the closest grocery store? There are two grocery stores on Highway 107 in Sylva (Ingles and Super Walmart) approximately 11 miles from Bear Lake Reserve Greeters cottage north. Ingles in Cashiers is 15 miles south on Highway 107 How do I get to SUNDOG Places Lifestyle Center?
